How to Achieve Long-Term Weight Loss

When it comes how the body loses weight, it is really simple. In order to lose weight, your body must use more calories than it takes in. When your body needs more calories than it is getting, it will starting burning fat from the stored up deposits around the body. Therefore, when you want to lose weight you have to find some way of getting your body to use that stored up fat content. This of course, is where all the confusion and diet tricks come in.

Dieting is NOT Easy as it Seems

While some natural and healthy plans will tell you that it is easy. "Eat less! Move More!" It really is not that easy. If it were, millions of dollars would not be spent on diet pills. Let's go over a few.

Fat Blockers: (Orlistat and Xenical) They work by allowing you to eat whatever you choose. The fat blockers or binders stop your body from absorbing the enzyme that breaks up the fat. This means the fat cannot be absorbed and it just passes freely through the body. However, it comes with one heck of a nasty side effect. The fat must go somewhere. The side effect is one nasty and horrible smelling anal discharge.

Appetite Suppressants: Everyone has seen them and there are too many to list. They reduce your appetite to make you think you are full. You have herbal ones like Hoodia and you have prescription ones like Phentermine. You even have mood altering ones like Topamax. However you take them, they work the same. You don't get hungry. Therefore, your body has to feed off the fat stores to get the calories it needs to stay alive.

Then what should I do?

This is the age-old question isn't it? The only one that really knows what you should do is you. Many people find a combination of lifestyle change and supplements work the best. Obviously, supplements are not going to work for the long term.

Unless you have a medical condition, you cannot expect to take medication for the rest of your life. You will need to take control of your weight loss. Yes, supplements can help but they are only supplements to weight loss.

Where can I go for help?

You can find help in a number of places. Did you know that besides a traditional doctor that many chiropractors help with weight loss? Some even give nutritional guidance. Nutritional guidance may be exactly what you need. It really is the best alternative for long-term weight loss goals.
